Motorola


Contracted to Motorola for two months from June - August 2003.

Motorolla had stopped production of mobile phones in the Bathgate factory and reduced manpower from around 3500 people to 150.

My main task was to help strip out cabling, unused routers, servers and any other equipment that was no longer of any use. The remaining desktop equipment had to be sorted on what was being returned to DELL and what was going to be used to refresh older equiment being used by those lucky enough to still have a job.

Responsibilities:
Desktop Support on DELL desktop and laptop units running Win 2000/NT 4.0, MS Office 2000/97, Outlook 2000, Business Objects, Citrix and Oracle. Rolled out new PC’s with Windows, Office and Outlook 2000. Break/Fix new and old desktop/laptops. Trouble shooting of customer issues in office environments. Telephone and network cable installation and patching.
